Easy lunch time swim

This swim was not only a great way for me to stretch out by hips and back after a long weekend of events, I used it to focus in on basics and improve my form.  Felt good to swim at lunch, I think I will do it tomorrow too!

22-miles of hell

In the pouring down rain and through the mountains included the longest bike ride of my life.  I did it though and I met my goal of not falling and getting through the climbs without getting off the bike, LOL!!!!  It was grueling and I was slow….and I haven’t been more proud of completing a single race in all my life.  I finished second to last….but MANY people did not even finish or even show up because of the weather.  I am feeling amazing!

dual results

the duathlon broke up the run into two segments - this was a trail run in the rain.  I hate trail runs and rain so it was an experience.  I am so proud I made it through unscathed and injury free.  I gave up on trying to get a good time and just wanted to survice….and I did!

Yep, the time on this is right…

I ran a 5k Saturday morning with my mom…just for the heck of it.  It was a great race and the group that put it on did a wonderful job.  It was close to home so I didn’t have a good excuse not to go….so even though I knew my Sunday was going to be a huge challenge I decided to do this anyway.  I took it easy, had fun with it, ran the entire distance WITHOUT walking once and beat my best time by 8 minutes.  Who says training right doesn’t pay off????

This weekend…

At the last minute, my mom talked me into a 5k tomorrow so I figured I should just go and do a slow run then follow it with some swimming laps at the gym.  I have a big race on Sunday (2.6 mile run/21 mile bike/3.2 mile run) and I am hoping that I am not overdoing it.  I am taking today off just to make sure I am rested….eat right and get some sleep….take a ton of tylenol and hope my training over the last six months gets me through injury free and with a smile on my face.
